Students wishing to enroll at HUHS for the first time and plan to apply for federal financial aid should complete the following steps at least four weeks before the registration deadline. Please note that some applications for financial aid take longer to process than others as a result of factors beyond the control of HUHS. Any student with an incomplete financial aid package prior to the beginning of the semester will need to make payment arrangements with the Bursars Office or delay registration to the following semester
When prompted on the application for admission, please indicate your intent to apply for federal financial aid. Once you have completed the admissions process and have been accepted into an eligible HUHS program, your student file will be transferred to the Financial Aid Office to begin processing your financial aid package.
If you do not already have an FSA ID, you will need to create an account at StudentAid.gov. Your account will be used to fill out the FAFSA® form, sign your Master Promissory Note, and complete loan entrance counseling. Once you leave school you will also need your account to complete loan exit counseling, apply for a repayment plan, and to use the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Tool. All contributors (student, spouse, parent) to the FAFSA® will need their own FSA ID.
You will need to complete the FAFSA® form to apply for financial aid. Make certain to indicate the HUHS Federal School Code, 042448, on the FAFSA®. If you have already completed a FAFSA®, you may log back into your application to add a school code. You should receive an email confirming the submission of your application. Once your SAR is available, please review it carefully. The Financial Aid Office will receive a corresponding Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) and begin the financial aid packaging process. A FAFSA® must be completed each new academic year.
The Federal Student Aid Estimator can provide an estimate of the federal student aid for which you may be eligible.
Monitor your email for any communications from the Financial Aid Office or notifications from the financial aid portal. We reserve the right to request additional information, as necessary, to document your eligibility for financial aid. You must submit all requested documentation before your financial aid package can be finalized.
If you have any questions about the financial aid application process, please contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@huhs.edu or 865-524-8079 ext. 1002.
